Writing Headlines for Spider-Man
Despite Jameson's detestment of Spider-Man, Robertson insists to him that Spider-Man is in fact a hero and not a menace. Robertson appears visibly saddened when he learns of Spider-Man's abandoning of his role, when Peter briefly gave up his mantle of the hero during Doctor Octopus's reign of terror in New York. He later watched in a mixed state of confusion and amazement when Jameson wore the costume that Spider-Man threw out in his office alongside Hoffman and Betty Brant. Robertson is mostly at odds with newcomer photographer at the Bugle Eddie Brock. When Brock requests a staff job at the paper Robertson agrees that Peter would be more deserving of it. He was also extremely displeased when Brock submitted a fake photo forcing the paper to print its first retraction in decades.
