Sinister Six is an upcoming film based on the Marvel Comics team of the same name.
Production history[]
In December 2013, plans by Sony Pictures Entertainment to start their own expanded film universe based on their licensed Marvel Comics properties were put ahead, including a film based on the Sinister Six, a six-member group part of Spider-Man's rogue gallery, with Drew Goddard attached to write and potentially direct.[2] Goddard was confirmed to be attached as the film's director in April 2014.[3] By November 2015, the film was believed to have been canceled when Sony cancelled Marc Webb's The Amazing Spider-Man film franchise and focused on a new reboot part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.[4] However, in October 2018, Goddard reflected that his script could be used for a film eventually. By December of that year, Amy Pascal said that the film was "alive" again following the success of Venom, and that she was waiting for Goddard to be ready to direct.
