Topher Grace is an American film and television actor best known for his portrayal of Eric Forman on the TV sitcom That '70s Show. He portrayed Venom/Eddie Brock in 2007's Spider-Man 3. Grace himself was a fan of the comics as a child, including the Venom/Symbiote stories.
The casting of Grace for the role of Eddie Brock/Venom was met with primarily negative reactions due to his more average build when compared to the more masculine character depicted in the comics. Sam Raimi defended this, stating that he wanted a character that would be more of an evil version of Peter Parker, who was being portrayed by Tobey Maguire.
