Venom: Let There Be Carnage is a 2021 superhero film based on the Marvel Comics Spider-Man character of Venom and the second film in the Sony's Spider-Man Universe. It released on October 1, 2021.

This summer it was announced that Sony is eyeing directors: Andy Serkis, Rupert Wyatt & Travis Knight one of them to helm the project.


Andy Serkis was revealed to be the director to helm the Venom 2 movie, and that Michelle Williams is returning alongside Tom Hardy as Anne Weying.

Woody Harrelson was confirmed to reprise his role as Cletus Kasady.


On August 2019, Three-time Academy Award winner, cinematographer Robert Richardson joined the project as director of photography.


August 28, 2019, Film cinematographer: Robert Richardson revealed and confirmed that actor Woody Harrelson will be reprising his role as Cletus Kasady in the upcoming Venom 2 film slated for 2020, and that he would be the main antagonist of the film.


In October 2019, rumors spread that actress Naomie Harris would be playing the villain Shriek alongside Woody Harrelson in Venom 2.


In December 2019, it was revealed that 'The Irishman' star Stephen Graham had joined the cast of Venom 2, playing an undisclosed role.


On December 28, 2019, rumors had been spread out that Tom Holland is in talks to join the cast of Venom 2 as Spider-Man, respectively. To add to this, Tom Hardy posted an image of Venom eating the MCU version Spider-Man in a deleted Instagram post.[1]


In April 21, 2020, the official title for Venom 2 was revealed as Venom: Let There Be Carnage. It was also announced that the sequel to Venom was pushed back to June 25, 2021.[2]


On March 17, 2021, it was announced that the film would be pushed back to September 17, 2021. Two weeks later, it was reported that the film would be pushed back yet another week now scheduled to release September 24, 2021.


On August 12, 2021, the film was pushed back yet another time, this time scheduled to hit theaters October 15, 2021.

On September 6, 2021, the film was moved forward from October 15, 2021 to October 1, 2021.
